L'atelier central: design of a logotype

L'atelier central, is a structure that imagines, designs, and produces custom-made objects and furniture. They contacted myself so that I created their logo.

The workshop

L'atelier central is responsible for the study, design and production of custom-made furniture and objects. It is made up of a charming duo: Fanny, the architect and cabinetmaker who observes, draws, analyzes and brings a vision to each project; and Philippe, the trained engineer who imagines, designs and gives concrete form to each project.

Logo design

The idea was to consider the letters of the logo as modules of wood or metal that we assemble. Through this, we evoke the technique but also the freedom, the field of possibilities offered by tailor-made design. This design of ad hoc letters is inspired by "Monospaced", these fonts born with the typewriter have a fixed width and a technical aspect. Here, the width varies, the style evokes a technical aspect, without being austere with its rounded ends and opening shapes.

Business card

For the business cards, the duo imagined a stamp printing on a thin plate of sycamore maple. It eneables to combine the shape of the logo with wood, one of the materials most used by L’atelier central.
